China Youth Media Secures National Mobile Video License for China
May 12, 2009 - 9:00am
MARINA DEL REY, Calif.--China Youth Media, Inc. (OTCBB:CHYU), a China focused youth marketing and media company, announced today that it has secured the rights to utilize and exploit a Mobile Video License to distribute content via wireless networks throughout China. Recently granted by the Chinese government to the company’s partner, China Youth Net (CYN), the mobile license is an important extension of the 30 year Cooperation Agreement that China Youth Media entered into with CYN on June 10, 2008 to develop, build and operate a Campus Network targeting China’s 30 million plus college students online, on campus and via mobile devices. This license is in addition to the rights the company has to nationally distribute online video and promote live campus events.
With its rights to one of China’s highly sought after mobile media licenses, China Youth Media plans to deploy an advanced mobile video and advertising delivery system catering specifically to China’s college students, a key segment in the world’s largest youth market. The company expects to launch its mobile media and marketing platform offering video downloads, coupons, ticketing, opt-in surveys and data collection via China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile carrier, by October of 2009.
“Mobile content delivery is one of our core revenue streams and a significant milestone for the company,” commented Jay Rifkin, China Youth Media’s CEO. “In conjunction with our growing student database, this mobile license will provide us with a number of profitable and scalable services we can provide to our clients.”
